K’ima:w Medical Center now has the ability to conduct rapid testing for COVID-19 and will have results in less than 15 minutes. That being said, testing supplies are limited. If you believe you need to be tested then please call (530) 625-4261 extension 0218.

COVID-19 Response Team Update

  • Stay-at-Home order is active in Hoopa, CA due to COVID-19 Pandemic
    • Curfew is currently in effect from 8 PM to 4 AM every day.
      • The Hoopa OES COVID-19 response team is currently working on reducing the curfew hours. As of Monday, April 27, the new curfew hours will be 10 pm to 4 am every day.
  • A free food box will be available to ALL Hoopa Residents on April 28th, 29th, and 30th. Limit one (1) per household.
    • Pick up Time: 12 PM to 4 PM
    • Locations:
       1) Tsemeta Forest Nursery, 503 Marshall Ln.
       2) Hoopa Fire Station, 11121 State Hwy 96
       3) Hoopa Modular Plant, 61 Calpac Rd.

    • We are adding signs on all tribal roads stating, “Health Crisis, Local Traffic Only”
    • Hard road closures – K-Rails or gates have been placed on the following roads:
      • Hopkins C on Mill Creek, Pine Creek below Burnt Ranch Prairies, and Deer Horn road just past McCovey Prairie
    • Restricted to Emergency Travel Only on:
      • Bair Road and Dowd Road

Elders Information

Hoopa Grocery Store

  • Delivery available Monday through Friday to ALL COMMUNITY ELDERS (ages 65 and over) for groceries.
    • Please call the Hoopa Grocery Store at (530) 625-1013
    • Orders placed before 3 PM will have same-day delivery if supplies are in stock.
    • Orders must be over $20, through cash or check only.
  • Preferred elder’s shopping hours are 6 AM – 8 AM.


  • A free 1/2 cord of firewood can be ordered for community elders (ages 65 and over)

Community Updates

Hoopa Grocery Store 

  • Open from 6 AM to 7 PM
  • They have assigned an employee dedicated to sanitizing the store full time
  • Limit to 1 package of toilet paper, 1 case of water, and 1 hand sanitizer per customer.
  • Occupancy is limited to 10 shoppers in the store. 
    • After 2 people exit the store, they will allow 2 people in.

Hoopa Mini Mart

  • Open, without limited hours, from 7 AM to 7 PM
  • They implemented a $5 minimum purchase
  • Occupancy is limited to 3 people
  • Gas is pumped by the staff, and the preferred payment method is debit/credit card.

Coast Central Credit Union

  • Hours have changed to 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Hoopa Valley PUD

  • The Hoopa Valley PUD District Office is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 AM to 12 PM
  • The Transfer Station is open from 9 AM to 5 PM on Friday through Tuesday.
  • If there is a water-related emergency after hours, please call the Hoopa Valley Tribal Police at (530) 625-4202

K’ima:w Medical Center

  • Requests that you call in before you visit at (530) 625-4261 so that they can prepare for your visit properly.
  • The K’ima:w Medical Center Pharmacy has changed its closing time to 5 PM.

Hoopa Fire Department

  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, burn permits will not be issued. 
    • Please continue to use 2019 Burn permits.

Humboldt County

  • The County has recently limited the types of services in operation, and the list can be found on the Hoopa OES website.
  • The County is also requiring people to wear facial coverings in specific settings, effective on Friday, April 24th, 2020 at 12:01 AM.
    • This County Health Order states people must wear a facial covering before they enter:
      • Any indoor facility except for their own residence
      • Any enclosed space
      • Any outdoor space where individuals are unable to maintain at all times a distance of six feet from others.
    • The Hoopa Valley Reservation also has an order that highly mirrors the above County’s Health Order on facial coverings effective on Friday, April 24th, 2020 at 11:59 PM.
