Due to the rise in cases in neighboring counties and throughout the U.S., The OES IMT is anticipating a spike in COVID-19 cases to come any day now. We want to share these helpful tips of what you can do to ensure your family is best prepared for the upcoming rise in cases throughout Hoopa. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are taking all the necessary precautions and preparing as best you can.
1. Make sure you have at least 1 months worth of essential supplies so that you do not have to leave your home and risk contracting the virus. Some of these supplies include, but are not limited to water, first-aid supplies, toilet paper & sanitization supplies, canned goods, nutrient-dense foods, rice, seasonings, vitamins & supplements, medications, formula & baby supplies, children’s activities, & laundry supplies.
2. Prepare to have a Thanksgiving at home with your family unit. Do not celebrate with friends and family who are outside of your home. We encourage you to have a virtual Thanksgiving celebration through zoom or Facetime with those who are outside of your home.
3. Write down the OES COVID Hotline (707)-630-7371 and reach out should any questions arise. Also write down the KMC testing number (530)-625-4261 ext. 0218, if anyone in your household shows any flu-like symptoms please call to schedule a test immidietly.
4. Stay home and stay safe. Do not leave your home if you do not absolutely have to. If you do leave your home, wear your surgical mask at all times and sanitize/wash your hands frequently. We are thankful that there are currently 0 cases in Hoopa but we need YOUR help to keep it that way and to #keephoopahealthy.
